The coffee trees of these specialty beans are growing on nutrient rich, young volcanic rocks in approximately 1600 meters height.

The whole island is a nature reserve, strict requirements ensure that it is not possible to enlarge the harvest.
The coffee is grown exclusively on only 3% of the land area in San Cristobal. Maximum 5,000 60-kg bags coffee may leave the island per year. These are just 300 tons per year!

No pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or fertilizers may be used for the production of coffee on the island.
The coffee trees are fertilized only with their own pulp waste of the coffee cherries
Another speciality is the "Bird Friendly" certification: the coffee has to grow in natural shades. Thus, the local flora is not affected and there are strict rules regarding the diversity of the trees that make up the canopy of trees.
These conditions allow the highest level of protection of the local animal and plant Kingdom.

The taste of this unique, exotic coffee variety is really outstanding: a fine espresso with fruity sweetness, mild body, fresh aroma and mild, pleasant acidity.

This coffee is also perfectly suited for the preparation with your french press and for filter brewing.

The beans are grown according to organic standards and certified by the European labels and the Austrian Organic Control Authority according to the EU-Eco-regulation standards.
